Born in Estepa, Seville, Armando Mateos trained at the Cristina Heeren Foundation with masters such as José de la Tomasa, Calixto Sánchez, Esperanza Fernández, Paco Taranto, Rocío Márquez and Jeromo Segura. Winner of the 8th Cantes por Soleá Competition of the Cristina Heeren Foundation, he has brought his cante to peñas, festivals and theatres. His voice stands out for its personality, wide range and deep knowledge of cante flamenco.
